Did you know the reason why we use stick on wheel weight?
Some of you guys may not know, nut when balancin a wheel and tire setup, we have to add weight.
that’s why we only use stick on wheel weights because we’d prefer our tires and our wheel s undamaged
Clip on wheel weight: fixed at the edge of the wheel hub using its built-in hook. During installation, it is necessary to align the hook with a specific position on the edge of the wheel hub, and then press it firmly to secure it.
A lot of shops use a hammer on weights, and sure, they weill balance the wheel all the same, but they could chip or damage the inner lip of the wheel and over time that will corrode. That corrosion can make its way ead of your tire.
The main differences between stick on wheel weights and clip no wheel weights are as follows:
1. Appearance characteristics
Stick on wheel weight: usually small and flat, not very conspicuous after being pasted on the inside of the wheel hub, and will not destroy the overall aesthetics of the wheel hub.
Clip no wheel weight: relatively large and protruding from the edge of the wheel hub, more obvious, may affect the appearance of the wheel hub to a certain extent.
2. Stability
Stick on wheel weight: once firmly pasted, they are not easy to fall off under normal use. Its contact area with the wheel hub is large, and the strength of the adhesive is usually high, which can better keep the position of the balance weight stable.
Clip no wheel weight: Although the hook design can ensure that it is fixed on the wheel hub to a certain extent, if the vehicle encounters severe bumps or collisions during driving, the hook may loosen, causing the balance weight to fall off.
3. Applicable scenarios
Stick on wheel weight: suitable for various types of wheels, especially high-end car wheels with high appearance requirements. At the same time, for some cases where the edge of the wheel hub is irregular in shape or the space is small, adhesive balance weights are easier to install.
Clip no wheel weight: For some traditional wheels or when there is ample installation space, you can use the hook-type balance weight. Its installation is relatively simple and is also suitable for some places with relatively simple maintenance conditions.
4. Weight selection
Stick on wheel weight: Due to its design characteristics, it can provide more sophisticated weight selection and can balance the wheel more accurately. Usually there are a variety of different weight specifications to choose from to meet the needs of different degrees of imbalance adjustment.
Clip no wheel weight: There are relatively few weight specifications, and it may not be possible to achieve very precise balance adjustment in some special cases.
